All servers have been upgraded to the latest stable CPanel build (7.4.0+); updates include MySQL 4.0143, Exim 4, Mailman 2.1.2, phpMyAdmin 2.5.1, imp 3.2.1, and phpbb 2.0.5. Included in the udpate are spam boxes: users can now choose to have all spam tagged by SpamAssassin sent to a folder called 'spam' instead of their 'inbox'. Fantastico includes the following applications that can be installed automatically with just a few clicks: PHP-Nuke, Post-Nuke, phpWebSite, xoops, b2, pMachine Free, phpBB2, Invision Board, PHP Support Tickets, Support Services Manager, OS Commerce 2.2, 4images Gallery, PHPauction, PHProjekt, phpLinks, Moodle, Noah's Classifieds, PHPlist, WebCalendar Our newest server Owl is now online, it's specs are state of the art Intel Dual XEON™ 2.4GHz processors with 2.0GB ECC RAM, 2 - 80GB Seagate 7200rpm hard drives and a hardened secure kernel. The network status, server uptime and annoucements page has now been moved to a location off the NAC datacenter network to ensure all clients are kept up-to-date if issues arise. These limitations apply to ALL email accounts, mailing lists and anything else that you use to send email using your Kmet Hosting account. The limits have been introduced in order to clearly define what is permissable and to provide a stable platform for all users.

These limits apply to each CPanel account. If you have more than one mailing list installed on the one account. The combined total of all email sent via your account/mail lists must not exceed these figures:

        •   A Maximum of 20 pieces of email per minute is permitted.
        •   A Maximum of 1000 pieces of email per 24 hour period, per CPanel is permitted.

If your mailing list would exceed these limits, then you would need to outsource the list to a 3rd party provider. Kmet Hosting does not host sites that deal with mass email type services. Failing to observe the above limits will result in the mail list software being disabled or having your account suspended.

We make no apologies for the harsh stance here. Too many times we've seen sites push through 20,000+ emails through their account in one hit. This causes chaos on the server and prevents others from accessing and sending their email. Sites that deal in mass email, need to be placed on dedicated servers and have no place in our shared server platform.

For mailing lists that can stay within the above parameters, these lists are best handled through a program called Dada Mail.
